they did build a plain old charger nothing special about it and it had a bench seat in it with the automatic on the column,there's actually several different versions of it that was made because back then people had the option of ordering what ever they wanted on a car,a friend of mine has one that is an r/t model that has a bench seat and is automatic on the column,they built this with 4 different engine options also you could get a 318 which was a base model car or you could get a 383 or a 440 or a 426 hemi engine in it and each engine had other options available to make it run better also,check this web page out that im sending you it has a real good history of the chargers and what all they came with and what all they could be bought with,good luck, http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/charger/history.html
