Product Description |
| This is a replacement speaker for any Mopar with a 4 x 10 front speaker. This is not a reproduction of the original speaker but a high quality replacement. This speaker has the exact same cover as the originals however and looking at the speaker from the top of your dash (which is the only place you can see it on the car since the radio blocks it when installed) it will look exactly like the original. We use these in our cars since it is the only speaker we could find with the very hard to find blackout cloth over the top.
You will have to make a couple of very minor modifications to make this speaker work:
The connectors on the speaker itself are male/male and the factory Chrysler speaker is male/female, so to keep your original wiring harness you simply have to make a small jumper wire.
For E-Bodies - You use only the two outermost end tabs, just cut or bend the offset outer tabs since you do not need them. We put this in a car with a reproduction dash and it was slightly too tall. Not sure if this was the speaker, or the dash or if the original had shrunken or all of the above. We simply cut off a few layers of the cardboard pad on top of the speaker and it fit great.
For 68-70 B-Bodies - The factory fasteners will not work for this one so we used a 3/4" long 5/32" screw and nut and it worked fine. We also painted the screws black so they do not show through the dash.
Pretty simple to install them just wanted to point out what we ran into trying to install the speaker. |
